About Steve Jones

Steve Jones is an underwater photographer and journalist based in the UK.  He has over 25 years diving experience and spent most of the 90’s working as a professional dive guide and instructor in the Indian Ocean. It was there that his passion for photography led to him working as guide to a number of the worlds premier underwater photographers and subsequently in 1996, respected German magazine “Unterwasser” published his own work.

Steve’s images and articles have subsequently gone on to be published in over 25 countries in magazines such as Ocean Geographic, Tauchen and Scuba Diving and newspapers including the Times and the Telegraph. He has contributed to numerous book projects and along the way his work has picked up a number of awards.

He has also been invited to speak internationally on various marine issues, including at the International Boat Show in Düsseldorf “BOOT” and “Celebrate the Sea” festival.

He is truly in his element when leading expeditions to remote and unexplored locations and in 2010 Steve was a team leader on the ground breaking “Elysium” Expedition to Antarctica, the aims of which included producing a documentary and book to commemorate the forthcoming centenary of Sir Ernest Shackleton’s Trans-Antarctic Expedition.
